Fund Raising for CHFT Macmillan Cancer Support Services.

A fun afternoon raised £181.50

Huddersfield Railway modellers recently hosted a fundraising event for the CHFT Macmillan men’s cancer support group on Thursday, May 23rd. The money raised going to Macmillan for use within the Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust. The event, organised  by club member Clinton Morris and Macmillan volunteer John Ward, showcased a variety of train activities, including live steam on the club's layouts.

Attendees were treated to a raffle with many prizes, delicious homemade cakes, and a railway-themed quiz. A victorious two man team of Railway modellers excelled in the quiz and received a small prize for their remarkable performance. Several lucky attendees won multiple raffle prizes. Thanks to the dedication of Kim, Christine, and Kathy in cake and raffle ticket sales, the fundraising goal of £175 was exceeded, raising a total of £181.50.

This event marks the second time that Huddersfield Railway modellers have hosted an event for the Macmillan men’s cancer support group. Club members generously volunteered their time to operate trains on the layouts and interact with participants, ensuring a delightful experience for all
